Stop Others from Posting to Your Facebook Page

Facebook is a very popular social media website. Today there are infinite users and are still increasing as the days pass by. You can find a vast majority of Facebook users having contradictory ideas. Most of them don’t even know about the other person and they don’t even tend to bother much. Apart of these, Facebook also includes the users who know about you and would not mind to even respond you. Their response can of different types. For example, they may respond you by liking your content that you post, by commenting on your post or as a least share your post. And last but not the least there are some users who are most infuriated. These people can also be called irate.

The irate users are those users who show their anger on your Facebook page. These people mostly create problems for you by passing furious comments, or contexts on your page. Irate also create feuds. You can observe very often that there are a number of people who pass misleading or furious comments against some other users. These people also post their negative comments regarding a person, brand or a business. These people can result as disruptive on different occasions which is harmful for your page because they tend to make it a personal mission in their life. Many irate people think that by following their disruptive policy they can make a difference in other people’s lives because they think that they are on the right path. This wrong perception increases when in any situation someone posts a “like” on their posts. Similarly, with every “like” that increases on their post they get fueled up which further leads to more negative posts by them.

As a preventive measure many blogs decide to close their comments section. On Facebook, you can prevent your page from these irate people just by selecting “block user” feature. Most of the personal profiles lock their privacy in order to prevent such comments.

It is totally up to you to allow someone or block anyone to respond on your page. On Facebook, there are numerous ways by which you can prevent or stop anyone that you want from posting on your page. Some of the ways are discussed below:

 

Make Your Profile Timeline Personal 

On Facebook you are the manager of your page. It is totally your decision whom you decide to allow to post on your page. If at any time, someone posts some misleading comments, post abusive ones or harass you. You have the option to block them. In many cases it is not easy to block everyone from your page. There might be a possibility that the particular person creates multiple accounts in order to attack on you repeatedly. An evident example of this harassment can be taken of the women who hold a major position on the social media websites. They can follow this overkill solution for blocking up the personal profile pages of those irant people.

We can start with some simple steps as the preventive measures against unwanted people.

If you desire to cease everyone who post on your Facebook profile timeline rather than locking up your own profile you can take the following steps to do so:

First “Click” the drop-down triangle that you will find on the top right corner of your Facebook page.

From the same menu, “Click” settings.

Then Click the “timeline and tagging option which you will find on the left-hand column of settings section.

Next you will have to click “who can post on your timeline” and edit it.

Now set “only me” option, which will enable only you to post on your timeline.

Here you can keep in mind that when you opt the “only me” option, it would prevent others to post directly on your timeline whereas, your friends will still be able to comment any context that you post.

 

Always Edit Profile’s Visibility  

Facebook has an interesting feature that is profile visibility setting. This feature allows you to control the visibility of your post. Here you have the option to choose the people whom you want to show the post and the ones you don’t.

You can change the visibility by selecting the custom visibility settings that are available on your profile page.

You can customize your settings by Clicking the drop-down arrow that is available on every post. For this purpose, you can find the icon that is underneath your name and next to the date information.

You can choose from the following options

Everyone: When you customize your privacy settings to “Everyone” your post can be seen by every user available on Facebook. These include both the registered and the unregistered ones. Here it is important to know that only the registered Facebook users would be able to comment on your post.

Friends: When you customize your page visibility to “Friends”, then your post will be visible to all those people who are on your Facebook friends list. Now only your friends will be able to comment on the context that you post.

Only Me: If you choose the option of “Only Me” then everything that you post will be only visible to you and not anyone else. This option is favorable in order to save the data for future use. It can also be useful for hiding your posts from the numerous applications.

Groups: When you customize your settings to “Groups”, all the users who are a member of your group will be able to see your post. Here it is important to note that there are many different types of groups which includes your workplace, any location or a particular family.

Custom: It is an option that is available on Facebook which you can select in order to create a list of people whom you can tag a specific post. In this custom menu you also have the option to exclude the users whom you do not want to share your post visibility. This menu has an advantage that it is an invisible list and the other user does not get notified when you do not select them. On the other hand, if you tag a post to the particular user then in this case they will be able to view your post. All the above customization options can be set accordingly when you post a specific context.

On Facebook, you have the option to set the privacy settings of your profile. If you want to do so, you will have to follow the mentioned steps:

Go to your Facebook page settings menu and then select the privacy option.

Here you can view different options that you can set for your Facebook page privacy.

Select “who can see my stuff”. As the name shows this option lets you to see all the people who can view your posts.  Here you can select all the members whom you want to make your posts visible by setting the default option. Further you will be able to change the settings as you desire for post-by post basis.

Don’t get embarrassed at any point!! You can click this icon to control all the posts that you shared previously. This feature helps in changing the option to friends only for all the previous posts that get older than a certain time period.

In addition to this, you also have the option to select “who can send you friend requests, who can look you up via email, who can look you up via phone and the option of whether or not your profile is indexed by search engines.

Apart from this, Facebook also has the option of blocking unwanted users. You can block anyone you want by selecting the following procedure.

Go to the settings. Then click the blocking section. You can manage your blocking settings by selecting all the users you want to block. You can do this on an individual basis. If in any case, you do not want to receive any message from particular users you have the option to block them. Further you can also block the app invites from different users and also the unwanted game invitations. You can even block an entire page which you can easily manage to do from this particular setting options.

 

Check Facebooks Page Settings

Don’t worry, marketers, I didn’t forget about you. Pages work in a slightly different way. For one thing, posts made to your timeline as a page aren’t shown in the main timeline, only your posts or posts you share are. This allows you to keep your timeline more focused. However, there is a specific section for visitor posts, appropriately titled “visitor posts” on the left side of the timeline. It’s narrow and has a short character limit.

The Facebook pages work in a different manner. The context that you post and share are mainly shown on your timeline whereas the one posted on your timeline are not presented on your timeline specifically. This helps in keeping the timeline more appropriate. Moreover, there is also a particular section specified for visitors posts that is located on the left side of your timeline.

In order to disable the posts by visitors, you will have to sign into Facebook as your page. You have to be an admin of the page and not the actual creator. Here you can change the setting to “disable posts by other people on the page.” This disables all posts made by users, although it does not disable comments on posts that you make.

There are number of options for you if you allow the users to post on your page. You can manage to select whether to enable the posting of videos or images on your Facebook page or disable it. Another important option of reviewing your post is available on Facebook which helps you to review any particular post before you actually post it on your page.

Here we can take an example of Pepsi brand. They allow every feed on their page and do not review it. It is recommended that you should at least review it once to be on a safe side.

If we talk about Facebook pages, they are different as compared to the profiles. On this you do not have any option to disable the comments on your posts.

Another thing to be noted here is that if anyone comments your post, you can review the post and then click X which is located on the right corner of the page. This will help in making the comment invisible from the other users. It can be viewed only by the one who posted it and their friends. In addition to this, when you click on the X, you get the option of deleting the comment and to block the user if you want. This is important for moderation to minimize the impact of irate ex-customers.

Facebook also has an option of Blacklist. You can ban many unwanted pages that you want by selecting this particular option. You can type or add different words that you do not require on your page. For example, you can blacklist the words related to abusive language, vulgarity, nudity, racist acts and many similar things. If in case any of the user types a blacklisted word in their comment, the Facebook will restrict their comment.

Here it is an important point to note that you do not have the authority to select and delete the unwanted reviews yourself. For this purpose, first you will have to visit the actual comment and then click on the drop-down menu. You will see an option of “I don’t like this review”. You have to click it and then follow the instructions that appear on the page and click report. Now Facebook authority will review the comment and they will decide to either delete the comment or not.

 

Manage Engagement  

When you get too many users connecting on your page it can result in annoyance. To manage the minimization of engagements on your page taking place you can select different options. The major three are discussed below

First of all, you should ignore them. It is a great way to escape from the undesired engagements. If we take an example of Pepsi, by ignoring you, your visitor post can be turned into a selection of bad posts which eventually results in keeping away from posting comments. This lets them to drag away many numerous users from their page.

Secondly, the hyper aggressive moderation. This helps in removing all the unwanted comments or posts from the users. Some people use the “disable” option by which they delete all the posts they receive, but it is considered as useless and time consuming activity having zero results.

The third option consists of removing the spam items from your page and then corresponding immediately through customer service messages. This option is considered as most time consuming and the most expensive among the three options.

It is therefore, important to select a moderate option. If you intend to block all the engagements made by users, then it will not be possible for your page to grow. In order to be successful you will have to think of some better option.
